James Kenneth Smith was born February 10, 1940, in Nola, Mississippi, and passed away peacefully at home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, September 4, 2026.

James is survived by sons: Michael K. Smith and wife, Alina Isreal Smith, and Brian K. Smith; two step-daughters: Vanessa and Nikki; one step-son: Terry; two grandchildren: Michael Smith, Jr. and Syndi Smith; great-grandchildren: Hunter Smith and Jimmie Pollock; two sisters: Marie Holmes and Marilyn Douglas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father: James Bailey Smith; mother: Wisie Lee Smith; a brother: Shelby Smith, and his wife: Shirland Smith.

James was a 59-year member of Pipefitters Local 198 and a retiree of La Roche Chemical. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Denham Springs.

Seale Funeral Home was entrusted with final care and arrangements. Visitation will start in the funeral home chapel Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 10:00AM until time of service at 12:00PM
