James Vernon Stafford, Jr.

James “Jim” Vernon Stafford, Jr., passed at the age of 78 on December 18, 2025. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 25, 1947, to his parents Margaret Ann and James “JV” Vernon Stafford. Jim graduated from Baton Rouge High School. In his free time, he loved to work on home improvement projects, he was a man with a great sense of humor that loved history, working in his yard and his family most of all. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda June “BJ” Burns Stafford; daughters, Courtney June Stafford Whittington (Sean) and Kayla Brittany Stafford Alexander (Jamie), grandchildren, Cormac James Whittington, Evangeline June Whittington, Solomon Jules Whittington, Levi Stafford Alexander, Brooks David Stafford Alexander, Antoinette June Whittington, and Brady James Stafford Alexander.

He is preceded in death by his son, James “Trey” Vernon Stafford, III; parents Margaret Ann Henkel Stafford and James Vernon “JV” Stafford.

There will be a Celebration of Life held Saturday, December 20, 2025, at First United Methodist Church Chapel, 930 North Boulevard, 70802, at 10:00 AM.
