Jane Mason Burnthorn

Jane Mason Burnthorn was born on September 8, 1931 to Marion and Ainsley. She was married to the love of her life, Ernest Burnthorn Jr, on July 13th, 1948 and they were married 71 years before his death. He was affectionately known as “ her Altonio” to Jane. They were the gold standard of marriage. A shining example of a lifetime of love, forgiveness, and compromise.

Together Ernest Alton and Jane had 5 children. Ernest III (Belle), Loretta, Kelly (Nancy), Sheryl (Mark), and Albert. And 13 grandchildren, David (Dianna), Brian, Jeff (Peggy), Greg (Nancy), Erin (Bobby), Emily (Jason), Elizabeth (Chris), Richie (Molly), Nikki (James), Angie (Dale), Samantha (Ray), Monica (Erick), Sam (Courtney). They had numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings Jimmy, Johnny, and Clara, her husband, Alton and daughter, Loretta and many other beloved family members.

Jane was tiny but fierce. She loved her family and devoted her life to us. She lived by family first principles. A true matriarch who will be missed beyond measure.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Saturday, February 7, from 10 a.m. until service at 12 p.m., officiated by her son, Ernie Burnthorn III.
