Jayson Grant Wiedeman of Watson passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident in December.

Grant was born on September 10, 1993, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was 31. He attended Live Oak schools, Central Private High School, Baton Rouge Community College, and Southeastern Louisiana University, where he graduated in 2017 with two majors in business. He developed a love for baseball at an early age. He played high school and college ball as a pitcher. He could throw a good “knuckle ball.”

Grant loved coaching young boys and teaching them the fundamentals of baseball. Since he was an only child, he always wanted one or more friends at the house. Grant was a loyal friend. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting his bow, and playing with his dogs, Charlie and Annie. Grant was known as a good dancer.

He is survived by his parents Jayson and Leah Wiedeman, his grandparents Lyn Wiedeman and Lawrence and Betty Newton. He is also survived by a very special friend Clarissa Howell.

Grant was preceded in death by his grandfather’s Dickie Wiedeman and Willard Thames.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Brady Milanes, Trevin Traylor, Shane Squires, Preston Guillory, Nick Smith, and Nick Penn. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Kern and Rudy Chandler.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, therapists, and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, Capitol House Nursing Rehabilitation, Sage Rehabilitation, and Touro Infirmary. We especially want to thank caregivers Betty Rae Hagan and Debbie Nesom.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Tuesday, July 22 from 9am to 11am with a Celebration of Life Service starting at 11am in the Chapel officiated by Pastor Stephen Hebert.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Live Oak Church Children’s Ministry Fund.

Following with graveside service, everyone is invited to join the Wiedeman family for a Reception at the Oakleigh House, 48160 LA Hwy 16, Denham Springs, LA. 70706.
