Jerry Wayne Brewer

Jerry Wayne Brewer, 70, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, took his first breath in Heaven on August 20, 2025.

Born on December 12, 1954, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Wilbert Herd “Shorty” Brewer and Une Mae Brewer, Jerry lived a life marked by stubbornness, strength, love, and devotion. To his family, he was the strongest man they had ever known, not only in the work of his hands, but in the unwavering heart he gave to those around him, expecting nothing in return.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Herd “Shorty” Brewer and Une Mae Brewer; his son, Jerry Lane Brewer; and his brother, Eugene Brewer.

Jerry is survived by the love of his life of 33 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Brewer of Denham Springs, LA; his daughter, Jessica Frazier (Billy) of Ocean Springs, MS; his daughter in heart, Jessica Singleton of Denham Springs, LA; his son in heart, Thomas Hennings (Amber) of Denham Springs, LA; his brother, Charles Brewer (Donna) of Watson, LA; his sister, Glenda Bernard (Ronnie) of Baton Rouge, LA; and his beloved grandchildren: Allison, EllaGrace (affectionately referred to as “George” by her Paw Paw), Emily, Ava, Jared, Jacob, Landon, Ethan, and Tori Ann.

They say any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Daddy. Jerry was the epitome of this truth. DNA did not define him, his heart did. His love and devotion to Jessica (Daddy’s Little Pumpkin) and Thomas stand as a testimony to the man he was and will continue to be in our hearts.

Affectionately known as “Rufus” to his granddaughters, he filled their lives with laughter and unforgettable memories. He traveled countless miles to be present for birthdays, graduations, and milestones that mattered. He will be remembered as the constant in their lives, the one who always showed up. He didn’t just say he loved you, he proved it in his actions.

Jerry will be remembered for his steady presence, witty humor, protective nature, selflessness, and his quiet but unshakable strength. A God-fearing man, he lived out his faith in the way he cared for his family and in the way he always showed up.

Though a private man who never wanted his “business” on the “cloud” (as he called the internet), those who knew him will forever cherish his one-of-a-kind humor. His famous one-liners like “How do you spell Uber?” And many others that are probably inappropriate for this forum. Even in his final days, he reminded his family that he was the main character in the show. His words will continue to echo in the hearts of those he loved.

Selfless and private by nature, Jerry wished to forgo a formal service. In keeping with his wishes, the family will hold a private Celebration of Life gathering to honor and celebrate him. This isn’t goodbye, it’s I’ll see you later.

A special thank you to Hospice In His Care, especially Blake Tanner, for the care and love during this difficult time.
