Jerry Wayne Clayton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on, February 6, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on May 23, 1946 in Independence, Louisiana. Jerry was a skilled carpenter and electrician, or as his wife like to call him a “Jack of all trades.” In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, specifically crawfishing.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Martha Clayton; Cherie Arnold (husband Darrel), Wade Clayton (wife Patricia), Tonya Hutchinson (husband Kenny), Patrick Clayton (wife misty); grandchildren, Darrel Wade (Corlissa), Jacob, Michael, Brian (Courtney), Brett (Reanna), Megan, Kristi (James), Brittany (BJ), Destiny, and Mary; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Clayton, and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lonnie Mae Clayton; his siblings, Henry Dale Clayton, Ruby Lee Wascom, Connie Durbin, and Ronald Clayon.
Serving as pallbearers will be Darrel Wade Arnold, Jacob Arnold, Michael Clayton, Brian Hutchinson, Brett Hutchinson, James Gulotta, and BJ Murray.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Warren Arnold, Eli Gulotta, and Brantley Murray.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Seale Funeral Home, 20335 Texas St., Livingston, LA 70754, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Forthward Bankston Cemetery, in Albany, LA.
