Jessie Brashear Drago

Jessie Brashear Drago passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 20, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on September 13, 1947, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She has now entered into eternal rest, reunited with those who went before her in the presence of the Almighty. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. The things she treasured most was time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Drago; her daughter, Robin Drago; her son, Jeff Drago and wife Christine Guidroz Drago; her grandchildren, Carlie Drinnon (Dustin), Braelyn Lott, and Chance Lott; her great grandchildren, Jesse Drinnon, Waylon Drinnon, and Jayce Hodges; brother, Bobby “Bubba” Brashear; sisters, Margaret Nolan and Faye Gaudin; her loving sister in law, Sandra Drago; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Eunice Brashear; sisters, Betty Lou Lee, Bessie Ann Krumholt, Myrtis Keith, Madeline Brashear Bueche, and Charlotte Marshall.

The family will have a private service at Our Lady of Mercy’s Columbarium Garden of Peace.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and at the Clarity Hospice at the Crossing for their devoted care during this difficult time.
