Jimmy Donald Lovett, beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on August 20, 1942 in Walker, Louisiana.
A proud veteran, Jimmy served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service he built a career as an electrician, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Jimmy's true joy came from mechanic work, he always had a spare bolt in his pocket, and he loved to tinker with his '57 Ford Fairlane. He also enjoyed reloading.
Jimmy is survived by his son Zane Clinton Lovett and his wife Carla; his grandchildren, Ethan Zane Lovett (Sydney) and Dalton Elmo Lovett; his great-grandchildren, Damian, Sarah, and Barrett Lovett; sisters, Marie Luther, Merrell Long (Terry), Kathleen Bourque (Melvin); brothers, Elmo Lovett, Jr. (Cassie), numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend and friend of the family, Dottie Marler.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alma Ervine Lovett; his parents, Elmo Lovett and Viola Chavers Lovett; brothers, James Monroe Lovett and Jerry Lovett; sister, Ollie Irene Lovett.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan Lovett, Dalton Lovett, Doug Lanoux, Jason Venseret, Brett Gasperaz, and Bart Thomas. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Joe Bushnell, Ron Jones, and Johnny Rogers.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Seale Funeral Home, located at 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at Seale Funeral Home on Monday, September 1, 2025 from 10:00 Am until the funeral service at 12:00 PM. The graveside service and burial will follow at The Lovett Family Cemetery, in Holden, LA.
A reception at Clint and Carla’s home, 4325 Hwy 1041, Holden, LA, will follow the services.
