Listen to Obituary

John Thomas "Jack" Corcoran Sr, 91, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by lots of love on April 14, 2026.

He was born March 15, 1935 to the late Hazel Wesner and George Dewey Corcoran Sr. He attended Sacred Heart Academy and Graduated from Warren Easton High School 1954. Mr. Corcoran proudly served in the National Guard of Louisiana as a gunner, and was honorably discharged.

He spent his life as a licensed Master Plumber and owned his own plumbing company and plumbing supply store. He taught many young men, including his 2 sons, his trade. He often laughed about having his license so long his license number was a single digit.

Jack said he had a 100-year warranty, well he didn't quite make it, but you can't deny he had a full and colorful life. He was an avid music lover and enjoyed his renewed love of playing the saxophone. His love for motorbikes led him to the Farhad Grotto motor escort service for the parades and more. He served with the Shriner's and became "Jacko" the clown making balloons putting smiles on children's faces at circuses, parades, hospitals, and birthday parties. A long time Saints fan from season one, still attending games in his eighties. He enjoyed LSU sports, growing tomatoes, watching birds, squirrels, fishing, hunting, boating and crabbing at his family camp in Little Woods.

He is preceded in death by his son, John Thomas "JC" Corcoran Jr.; wife Catherine Bonck Corcoran, wife Julie Corcoran, his brothers, Calvin George "Callie", Louis Joseph "LJ", Stanley, August Dudley, George Dewey Corcoran Jr. and his little sister Mary Ann Corcoran Chastant.

He is survived by his children, Vicki Cressionnie (Rodney), Cathy Corcoran Valentine (Vincent), Toni Bordonaro Miano (Glenn), John "Johnny" Bordonaro III and Brittany Corcoran; 8 grandchildren, Shannon, Nicole, Angelle, Kristen, Rodney, Rachel, Ryan, Olivia; 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends that he loved dearly.

If you didn't already know him you wouldn't be a stranger long. He was a warm, loving, social, faithful and religious man with a big smile and laugh. He will be sorely missed.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dee "Corcoran" Thibodeaux for providing support and love to Jack in his time of need by opening her home and caring for him for the past four years.
