Joyce Christine Binns Stevens Cosper

Christine "Chris", 76 years old, lived in Edgewood, Texas. She passed away on July 27, 2025 after succumbing to a long bout with respiratory issues. Joyce was born in Seattle, Washington on Veterans Day, November 11, 1948. Chris graduated high school in West Monroe in 1967. She went on to study at a beauty college and became a professional hair dresser. She later took courses in accounting and became a supervisor at the Louisiana State Retirement System. She retired in 2004 with twenty years of service.

In 1991, she met Patrick Cosper and they began a 33-year relationship and marriage. After retiring, she spent most of her time traveling and visiting relatives. She loved to shop at flea markets and curio shops. She was a very special person to everyone she met. She never met a stranger and was a very special soul to all she encountered.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Rex Binns and Catherine Todd Binns; her first husband, Hubert Stevens, and only child, Edgar Stevens, who she lost in an accident.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Cosper; brother, Richard Binns and wife Medina Binns; niece, Melissa Binns; four step children, Shannon Cosper and wife Dawn Cosper, Matthew Cosper and wife Rebecca Cosper, Andrew Cosper and wife Rachelle Cosper, and Jean Granger and husband Hayden Granger; along with grandchildren, Wyatt Cosper, Clara Cosper, Aydan Cosper, Andrew Cosper Jr., Coen Granger, Kora Granger, Marion Cosper, and Eleanor Cosper.

A private graveside service will be held at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
