Judith Suzanne Kortz 1960 - 2025

In Loving Memory of Judith Kortz.

With broken hearts but endless gratitude for having known her, we announce the passing of Judith “Judy” Kortz, a woman of unwavering strength, sharp wit, and a love so fierce it wrapped around everyone she welcomed into her life.

Judith Suzanne Kortz, born May 2, 1960, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 5, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Ann Ward, Leo & Leha Glenn, and her beloved son, John Lovering.

Judy is survived by her brothers Stephen & Kenneth Glenn. She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her children, Michael Lovering (Nikkie), Daniel Carlton (Kim), Brittany; and her beloved grandchildren, Breli (Wes), Millie, Brody, & Landon.

Judy was a mother first, not just to her three beloved sons, but to countless others who found comfort, protection, and unconditional love in her presence. Whether by blood or by bond, she made you family. She raised her children with grit, heart, and a whole lot of humor and never stopped fighting for them, even in her darkest hours. She was also the proud grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren: Breli, Millie, Brody, and Landon; the light of her later years. Her love for them knew no limits, and her influence on their lives will echo for generations to come. Judy’s personality was unforgettable: she was witty sometimes, playfully sarcastic, always quick with a comeback and unapologetically stubborn when it came to what (and who) she loved. If you earned a place in her heart, there was no storm she wouldn’t weather for you. Her loyalty wasn’t quiet, it was fierce, vocal, and steadfast. Life gave Judy her share of hardship. Through those losses, she grew even stronger, never bitter, just more determined to love people harder and hold them closer.

She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs; Casey & Jack. With the passion she had for horses, we just know she entered into the Lord’s Kingdom on one. They, like so many, were drawn to the calm and warmth of her soul. Judy leaves behind not just her sons and grandchildren, but also an extended circle of family and chosen family who stood beside her throughout her life, especially during her children’s most difficult times. Your presence and support were a reflection of the love Judy gave so freely. Among the many who will miss her are her soul sisters and dearest friends: Carol Baker, and Louise Dunkelmann (Wezzie), the kind of friends you share a lifetime of laughs, tears, and unforgettable stories with. Their bond was more than friendship, it was family. Judy Kortz was a force of a woman who lived and loved on her own terms.

She was funny, fiery, protective, and endlessly loving. Her legacy is etched into the lives of those she helped raise, heal, and hold together. She may have left this earth, but her spirit, sharp, stubborn, and full of love, remains forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rest well, Mama. Your love still leads us daily, forever.
