Judy Ramona Maranto Southard, age 71, of Louisiana, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026.
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on August 27, 1954, Judy was a proud graduate of Glen Oaks High School, Class of 1972. She dedicated over 19 years of service to Baton Rouge City Court.
Judy had a deep love for God and her Catholic faith. Her faith guided every part of her life. It brought her strength, comfort, and purpose. She had a tender heart for children and strongly believed in the sanctity of life, values she expressed daily and by support of St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
She deeply appreciated the beauty of God’s creation and found serenity in the outdoors.
More than anything, Judy will be remembered for her loving heart, devoted faith, caring spirit, and the way she made others feel loved, prayed for and protected. Her sacrifice for those she loved, was unmatched. Her presence brought comfort to many, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Judy is survived by her children, Jamie Marie Verrett and husband, Darrell Sauce, Robbie Carroll Southard III and wife, Dianne Southard, Emily Marie Southard; sister, Lucille Maranto; Sisters-in-law, Monica Southard and Gina Moise, Husband Tim; Nieces and Nephews, Samantha Southard, Kelsy Leblanc and Husband Llyod, Amelia Southard, Haley Southard, Olivia Moise, Rodger Warner, and Reed Moise; as well as numerous extended family members and best friend Elizabeth Ponce.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Emily Quint Maranto and Louis J. Maranto. Along with her beloved mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Robert Southard Sr.
The family offers our sincere gratitude to those dear friends, she loving referred to as her ‘angels’ for their countless acts of kindness, faithful support, and loving generosity that brought comfort through every season.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM, with funeral services beginning at 2:30 PM. Services will be conducted by Deacon Brent Duplessis.
The family welcomes flowers, which may be sent to Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs.
