Julia “Tiny” McMorris, age 92, of Livingston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law.
Tiny was a woman of unwavering strength and spirit — headstrong in the best sense, with a fierce determination that carried her through life’s greatest challenges. Fiery and courageous, she faced adversity with steadfast resolve and a resilience that inspired all who knew her. Her hardworking nature and strong will shaped not only her own path, but also the lives of those around her. She stood firm in her convictions, never backing down when it came to protecting and providing for her family.
Above all, her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and fiercely. Her legacy of strength, devotion, and enduring love will live on in each of them.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Harrell and husband, Glenn; grandchildren, Donnie Harrell and wife, Sonya, and JoLynn Hall and husband, Michael; great-grandchildren, Grant Harrell, Olivia Hall, and Maddox Hall; sister, Bobbie Wascom and husband, Elwood; and sister-in-law, Polly Severio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald McMorris; her parents, Henry and Annie Guy Severio; five brothers, Son, Buddy, O.D., Dick, and Jack; and two sisters, Thelma and June.
Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Harrell, Grant Harrell, Michael Hall, Kevin Harrell, Brett Sullivan, and Lynn Severio. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Blount and Maddox Hall.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Laura; her nurses, Tina and Brandy; the Hospice of Baton Rouge team; and Pastor Todd Vickery for the outpouring of love and support.
“He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord.” — Isaiah 26:3
