Karen Hall Grantier, admired as a pillar of strength, bravery, and unyielding positivity, passed away on December 22, 2025. Karen was known for her warmth, generosity, and the undeniably loving spirit she brought into the world.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her beloved daughter, Ashley Goree Thomas; her granddaughters, Morgan Mayne Thomas and Addison Presley Thomas; and her great grandchildren, Brinley Kate and Dayton Kane Corban.
She is joined in rest by her beloved husband Ernie Grantier; her mother, Zenola Hall; her father, Alvin Hall; along with many other loved ones throughout her life.
With a hefty family tree and a family consisting of both blood ties and bonds formed from the heart, Karen’s reach was as far as it was wide, and she was cherished deeply by many.
Among Karen’s most significant accomplishments was raising her daughter, whom she held as her pride and joy. She was a 1967 graduate of Robert E. Lee Highschool in Baton Rouge, La and continued her education at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, La. where she earned her master’s plus 30 in education. She never wavered in her compassion for others. She continued to support her family and extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness and generosity.
Karen is survived by sisters, Beverly (David) Shelby, Carole (Kevin) Flint and Arlyn Munson as well as numerous nephews, their wives and children plus countless cousins and friends.
Karen’s loss is deeply felt by her loving family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives she touched.
