Kathleen Hopkins Roberts

Kathleen “Coonie” Hopkins Roberts, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of deep faith, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at her home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 16, 1945, in Holden, Louisiana.

Coonie was truly one of a kind and had the sweetest soul you could ever meet. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and genuine kindness made an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a special way of making others feel loved and cared for, and her family was the greatest joy of her life.

Her faith was at the center of everything she did. Kathleen read her Bible every single day and was a devoted prayer warrior, faithfully lifting up her family and those she loved in prayer. Her love for the Lord was reflected in the way she lived and in the kindness and grace she showed to others.

Coonie found happiness in life’s simple blessings. She loved spending time in her garden tending to her flowers and enjoyed settling in with a good book. Her love of reading was something she passed down to her children. She also loved hunting and fishing with her husband. More than the hunt or the catch, it was the quality time they spent together that she treasured most, making memories side by side and enjoying the outdoors.

Above all, Coonie treasured her family. She will be remembered for her sweet soul, unwavering faith, loving heart, and the countless prayers she offered for those she loved. Her family finds comfort in knowing that the woman who spent so much of her life reading God’s Word and faithfully praying is now resting in His presence.

Coonie’s beautiful spirit and the love she gave so freely will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Coonie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Joe Roberts; children, Charles Carpenter, Sr. and wife Vanessa, Terry Carpenter, Kirby Carpenter and wife Penny, Stacy Estes, Rodney Roberts and wife Melissa, Lisa Holsonback and husband Bobby, Jimmy Roberts and wife, Pam, and Candy Mims and husband Daniel; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Pearl Efferson; brother, Tommy Hopkins and wife Gladys, and Don Hopkins; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Coonie is preceded in death by her father, Ellis Hopkins, mother, Almeda Sullivan Hopkins; grandson, Austin Holsomback, brothers, Archie Pierre and Floyd Hopkins; and sisters, Ann Parrott and Sis Starkey.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 for a visitation starting at 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM, conducted by Pastor Jonny Bel. Graveside service will immediately follow at Beechridge Cemetery, Denham Springs.
