Keith Andre' Mayeux

Keith Andre' Mayeux, age 52, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born May 3, 1974, the third and last child of Vincent Wayne Mayeux and Kathleen (Kathy) Bonaventure Mayeux. His older brother, Wayne Christopher (Chris) Mayeux passed away in 2013. Keith's passing leaves his parents with only their firstborn, daughter Cynthia Elise Mayeux Rojas.

Keith was an LSU graduate whose later job opportunities included working as a chemical specialist with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, as a traffic engineer with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, and as an HVAC technician for Ricke Mechanical.

His hobbies included video gaming, 1980's childhood toys and music, and Disney vacations where his favorites were the Haunted Mansion and the Tron Ride.

Keith will be forever missed by his children-Zaira Penn and Ronan Keith Mayeux-who were his undisputed day-end and day-out treasures, the be-all and end-all of his very existence. His delight in their growth and achievements was phenomenal!

Keith's twin nieces, Anthea and Nadia Mayeux, were very close to their uncle and will hold him forever in their twin hearts. Nadia was able to get closer to him and helped him with everyday household chores when she lived with him for a while. Libbee always loved his company. His nephew Keegan admired his uncle very much.

Also missing Keith with all her heart is his fiancée, Crystal Pitre, who has been unswervingly dedicated to him and supportive of him. We are certain he is missing her, too.

Thanks to Chris Langlinais and to Jim Seago for their friendship with Keith....great friendships evolve into the rare true treasures of life —Chris, you were, are and ever will be Keith's best friend!

His parents also want to thank Christine and Boo at this time for any and all assistance you were able to provide Keith over the years. For all who knew Keith and cared about him in the smallest of ways-thank you!

Keith was a tender-hearted, hard-working, fun-loving individual who could craft items in his workshop as well as create a fine piece of art work. He had a sentimental side that caused him to return to his childhood home and take for a keepsake the little plaque that held the number 128, the number on the door of the apartment in which our family lived snugly and so happily for many years. For all who love him, there is some crumb of comfort in that old saying that is taken from a poem by James Whitcomb Riley: "He is not gone, he is just away."
