Central, LA - Kenneth Ray Lindsly, 67, of Central, LA, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on October 30, 1957, in Baton Rouge, LA. Ray lived most of his life in Baton Rouge and the surrounding area.
Ray was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and was known for his dedication and his work ethic. His working career was in the retail food business, transitioning to helping family and friends with cabinetry, remodeling, and home repair projects. His joy and experience with wood working, home repair and gardening provided Ray with immense talent which he willingly shared.
Ray is survived by his wife of 45 years, Juanita Sicard Lindsly; his daughter Sarah (Jason) Adams, and sons Jason and Jeremy Lindsly; his brothers Joe (Jean) Lindsly, Layne Lindsly, Calvin (Rhonda) Lindsly, Les Bergeron and his sister Angela (Michael) King; his uncle Tony (Connie) Oubre, aunts Tammie (Joe) May and Barbara Navarre and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Wynona Oubre Lindsly, Sr.; grandparents Calvin and Georginia Zeringue Oubre and Numa and Agnes Sicard Lindsly and uncle Henry Navarre, Jr.
Per Ray's wishes, there will only be a graveside service on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge, LA.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, the donor family, and the many health professionals for helping to add 22 years of life following his heart transplant. Ray's legacy will live on in the lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
