Lanell Whitehead Rasberry, age 79, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026. She was born on February 14, 1947, in Livingston Parish, Louisiana.

She was a proud graduate of Denham Springs High School, Class of 1965. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker for 57 years. There was not a single baby shower, wedding shower, or family and friends get together where she did not make her famous chicken salad sandwiches or her delicious lemon icebox pies.

Lanell was a faithful member of Live Oak Church in Watson. She enjoyed simple pleasures like drinking coffee, her daily reading of the Baton Rouge Advocate cover to cover, attending any craft shows within a two-hour radius, and in her younger years she found joy in shopping and having lunch with her daughter and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa R. Peters (Paul); her son, Jason H. Rasberry; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Lanell was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, Herbert Hal Rasberry; her parents, A.D. and Alice Whitehead; her sister, Gladys Pratt; her brothers, Kelton Whitehead and Mike Whitehead; and her mother- and father-in-law.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Peters, Lawson Peters, Brandon Whitehead, Kevin Whitehead, Sap Guzzardo, and Chris O’Neal.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Live Oak Church.
