Laura Wyatt Cassidy

Laura Jean Wyatt Cassidy, 41, of Denham Springs, passed away on February 13, 2026, at her home in Denham Springs. Born in Baton Rouge, LA to Keith and Priscilla Wyatt, she was known for her dedication to the officers she worked with at the Denham Springs Police Department, her kind heart and doing for others.

Laura was a graduate of Jewel M. Summer High School attended Louisiana Southeastern University to study Paralegal. Then transferred to Northshore Techical College, and graduated majoring in EMT Basics.

Laura’s career spanned through many departments and duties, beginning with EMS as an Emergency Communications Officer, then Dispatcher with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, up to her final service as a Differential Response Officer with Denham Springs Police Department.

She loved everything Harry Potter, old romantic and comedy movies. Laura enjoyed a lot of TV Series, especially Friends. But would stop it all to share in the activities with her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her Grandmother and Grandfather - Brunette and William W.L. "Jabo" Wyatt and Maw-maw and Paw-paw - Laura and Ralph Alford, who loved her dearly. Also her beloved furbabies, Midnight and Tiger.

She leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband, Michael Benjamin Cassidy, who she “put up with” for 18 years, father Timothy Keith Wyatt, and mother Priscilla Alford Lott. Laura is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Daniel (Rebecca), Michael (Ashley), Stephanie, and Shelli (Jason); along with five nieces and three nephews - Regina and Dylana (Daniel), Gracyn and Mason (Michael), Leah and Ettice (Stephanie), and Kyle and Kayla (Shelli). Also missing her are her dog, Khaleesi Lynn and four cats, Baby Girl, Binxi, Charlie Murphy, and Loki.
