Lawson Clifford Storey, resident of Walker, Louisiana, passed at the age of 85 on November 20, 2025. He was born on March 4, 1940 in New Orleans, Louisiana to his parents Henry Storey and Rosie Inez. After graduating from high school, Clifford served in the United States Marines for 4 years stationed in Pearl Harbor. He went on to work at the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for 37 years. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church and enjoyed spending his time hunting, gardening, and being surrounded by family. He will be deeply missed by those that had the privilege to know and love him.
He is survived by his spouse of 60 years Linda Gail Achord, daughters Angela Robin Storey Mentzer and Dawn Storey Bishop, son Lawson Clifford Storey Jr., grandchildren Jared Blake Storey, Lawson Storey III, Ciara Michelle Nunez, Walker Bishop, Andrew Bishop, and Austin Nunez, great-grandchild Lawson Clifford Storey IV, numerous nieces and nephews, and caregiver Alice Winfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Storey and Rosie Inez Storey Sumrall, sisters Louis Chustz and Amelia Ruffin, and brothers Claude Storey and Kelly Storey.
Pallbearers will consist of grandchildren, with honorary pallbearer Richard Mentzer.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Pinnacle Hospice and Alice Winfield.
There will be a visitation held at Judson Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 25 from 11am to 2pm with a funeral service starting at 2pm officiated by brother David Lane and Merlin McCon. Burial will follow at Judson Baptist Church Cemetery.
