Lena Mae Landry Bissett, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 99. She was born on November 5, 1926, in Maringouin, Louisiana.
Lena worked for BellSouth, where she served as a telephone operator and teller. In her quieter moments, Lena enjoyed reading and caring for her plants. She found great pleasure in a good book and in tending to the greenery she lovingly nurtured.
Lena is survived by her daughters, Judy Harrell and Jody Bissett; grandchildren, Melissa Harrell, Steven Harrell, and Ashlie Dehner; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Harrell, Madeleine Godail, Nicholas Weaver, Brenna Fore, and Sloan Ava Godail; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lena is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Vernon J. Bissett; great grandson, Brendan Harrell; and her parents, Albert Landry Sr and Jeanne Mabile Landry.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Seale Funeral Home 1720 South Range Ave, Denham Springs, on Monday, August 17, 2026 for a visitation starting at 9:00 AM until the memorial service at 11:00 AM. Graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Lena lived a remarkable 99 years, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy that will continue through those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
