Leona A. Mckenzie Mcmorris

November 25, 1939 – August 17, 2023

Let everything that has breath bring praises to the Lord. Psalm 150:6. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, August 17, 2023. She was 83 years old. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her son, Danny McKenzie and wife Polly; two daughters, Jeanie Achord and husband John, Allison Quebedeaux and husband Dwayne; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; sister, Gloria Berthelot; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, 37818 Reinninger Rd., Denham Springs, LA 70706 on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 9am until Celebration of Life Service at 11am, conducted by Rev. Randall Gill, Rev. Roger Dunlap & Rev. James “Bubba” Courtney. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Merlin “Mack” McKenzie, Eugene “Mack” McMorris; son, Mark McKenzie and her brother, Ronnie Allemond. Pallbearers will be Alex and Julian Quebedeaux, Frank Allemond, Curran Brunzell, John Achord and Dwayne Quebedeaux. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
