Lillie Sibley Rome

Lillie Sibley Rome, resident of Livingston, passed at the age of 74 on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was born in Independence, Louisiana on January 30, 1952 to her parents Mary Mable Guist and Ellis Carter Watts, Sr. Lillie was a graduate of Doyle High School and worked at the Louisiana Patient's Compensation Fund as a medical malpractice specialist. She held a deep belief in the importance of family and in staying connected across distances and generations. Lillie will be deeply missed by the many people who had the privilege to know and love her, and her care will live on in those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years Joseph Aubert Rome, son David Dwayne Sibley (Kristy Sibley), daughters Stacey Leigh Altazan (Ryan Altazan) and Kadie Jo Rome, grandchildren Kathleen, Corey, Kacie, Camy, Gabby, Kayley, Bella, Sam, and Britton, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in passing by her parents Ellis Carter Watts, Sr., and Mary Mable Guist, brother Ellis Carter Watts, Jr. "Bubba", sisters Anna Faye Ballard, Betty Ann Hoyt, and Carrie May Purvis, daughter Debbie Denise Sibley, nephew Rodney Ballard, and great-granddaughter Wrenley Elizabeth.

We will gather at the family home, Wednesday, April 8, to celebrate the life of Lillie. We will lay her to rest with a graveside service 2 p.m., in Old Red Oak Cemetery.
