Lolita Marie Morris Jones

Lolita Marie Morris Jones, 87, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, was cured of her earthly troubles and entered the presence of her Lord, Thursday, November 20, 2025. Lolita was born in Springfield, Louisiana and attended Denham High School. She was crowned Homecoming Queen there as well as names an Allstar Player of the Year for basketball 5 times. She was known for her athleticism throughout life, even playing softball up to the age of 52. She was a business owner with her own beauty shop and wherever she lived, she would find new clients immediately. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie A. and Betha Ballard Morris; and sister, Audrey Wilkenson.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Paul A. Jones Sr.; children, Paulita Jones and Paul A “Son” Jones Jr.; grandchildren, Trinity Purvis Salter, Cainan Andrew James, Dustin Jones, Brittany Jones, Taylor Salas, and Jordan Jones; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Salter, Savannah Salter, Ivy Salter, Kainley James, Uriah James, Thomas Jones, Jackson Paul Jones, and Sloene River Jones; sister, Mary Alice Daniel; and brothers, Leslie Morris Jr. and Roger Morris.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 24, at New Bethelehem Baptist Church, Watson, LA, from 1 p.m. until service at 3 p.m. officiated by her husband, Rev. Paul Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
