Loraine Judith Rowe Dunkley

Loraine Judith Rowe Dunkley “Laney,” loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Grammy, passed at the age of 78 on April 19, 2026. She was born in Staten Island, New York to her parents William and Irma Rowe on April 15, 1948. After obtaining her masters of social work, Laney spread her care as a social worker with Volunteers of America, as well as the State of Louisiana. She was the director of Parker House for Volunteers of America for almost 20 years. Laney was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege to know and love her.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years Jimmy Dunkley, daughter Jenny Dunkley James (Alex), son Chris Dunkley (Jennifer), grandchildren Dylan James, Audrey Dunkley, and Ethan Dunkley, brother Bill Rowe, nieces Mary Dunkley McArthur and Lisa Bonnet, nephews Matt Rowe, Andy Rowe, Craig Magruder, James Dunkley, and John Dunkley, as well as many other friends and family who love and miss her.

She is preceded in passing by her mother and father William and Irma Rowe, and brother Rickey Rowe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to an organization to help foster kids.

There will be a visitation held at Seale Funeral Home (1720 South Range Ave., Denham Springs, LA 70726) on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am with a memorial service starting at 11:00am.
