Louie Price, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrol, sister, Tressie Stiles and brother, Larry, and his parents, James “Jim” and Etta Price.
He is survived by his daughter, Angie Hilton (Shane); his son, Bubba Gross (Carrie); his grandchildren, Dustin Davidson (Alicia), Brandon Gross (Ashlye), Tiffany Drody (Patrick) and Amber Gross and nine great grandchildren; his closest siblings, Virginia Hicks (Leon), Carol Mae Hicks (Felix), Clarence Price (Karen) and brother-in-law, Sonny Stiles. He also leaves behind & will be greatly missed by his sweet dog, Lulu, his everyday companion.
Louie was born in Baywood, LA and graduated from Pride High School, Class of 1962. During his school years, he was an active athlete, playing basketball and running track. In 1963, Louie enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country until 1969. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career in law enforcement beginning with the Baton Rouge City Police and later retired from the Baton Rouge City Constable’s Office in 1998.
His life was shaped by the outdoors, hard work and familiar comforts. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting on Raccourci Island. He was happiest behind the wheel of his tractor or riding his side-by-side, at ease in the peace and freedom only the outdoors could give.
He valued simplicity and lived his life without need for attention or praise. Though not often demonstrative and a man of few words, he showed his love, not in grand gestures, but in a steady presence and those he loved always knew exactly where they stood with him—and how deeply they were loved.
Louie will be remembered above all for the way he loved his family, served his community and country without fanfare, and his lifelong devotion to the outdoors. His presence will be deeply missed. His chair may be empty, but his love will stay with us always.
Honoring both his explicit instructions and the way he lived, he specifically requested that no formal services be held for him.
