Louis Randolph Harris, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He was born on August 28, 1943, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Louis dedicated his career to the ironworking trade, retiring from Iron Workers Local 623 after many years of skilled craftsmanship and proudly serving his country as a member of the Louisiana National Guard.

For 46 years, Louis shared his life with his beloved wife, Marguerite Sidney Martin Broussard Harris. Together they built a life centered on family, faithfulness, and unwavering devotion. Through life’s joys and challenges, they remained committed to one another and created countless cherished memories with their family.

When he wasn’t working, Louis found his greatest happiness outdoors. He loved bass fishing, camping, and cooking for family and friends. Some of his favorite moments were spent around a campfire, on the water with a fishing rod in hand, or preparing a meal to share with those he loved. Music was always close to his heart, and he especially enjoyed listening to Fats Domino, Van Broussard, and Elvis Presley. Whether casting a line at daybreak, tending a pot on the campfire, or humming along to one of his favorite songs, Louis found joy in life’s simple pleasures.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Clement Harris and Charles Randolph Harris; his son-in-law, Adam Dean; and his grandson, Hunter Louis Lambert.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marguerite Sidney Martin Broussard Harris; his son, Jeffrey Louis Harris and wife, Robin Gainey Coxe Harris; his daughter, Toni Harris Dean; his stepdaughter, Annette Dupuy Triche and husband, Woody Triche; his brother, Marshall Harris and wife, Ann; his grandson, Jeffrey Cole Harris and wife, Emma; his grandchildren, TJ Barnes and wife, Erica, Cody Barnes, Tia Dean, Lilly Dean, Shelly Dupuy, and Justin Dupuy and wife, Jill; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Zane, Nicholas, Claire, Aaron, Hayze, and Sydney.

A memorial service celebrating Louis’s life will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the memorial service beginning at 12:00 p.m.

In honor of Louis and the joy he found on the water, the family kindly asks that guests refrain from wearing traditional black attire. Instead, those attending are invited to wear their favorite fishing shirt or other casual outdoor attire as a tribute to one of Louis’s greatest passions. The family hopes this simple gesture will reflect the life he loved and the memories he created with those closest to him.

The family hopes you will remember Louis not with sadness alone, but with stories shared, laughter around the table, favorite songs playing in the background, and memories of peaceful days spent on the water. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched. His love, strength, and quiet example will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

The Lord called Louis home, but somewhere beyond our sight, we like to imagine there’s a quiet lake, a gentle breeze, good friends, and the bass are always biting.
