"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me!" ~Psalms 51: 10-11
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend Lynda Carol Moran, on Monday, January 26, 2026.She was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts to her parents Arthor and Julia McKenzie on February 19, 1945. She worked for many years as a childcare provider. Lynda was a member of Bethany Church as a fellowship lobby greeter and enjoyed attending Bible studies in her free time. She was a saved Christian woman with a strong faith in Jesus and has now met our heavenly Father. She had an exceptional gift for children as an active member of Adoption Options. On top of being a wonderful and giving parent, she was also a phenomenal foster parent and provided excellent in-home and after school daycare. Lynda had a passion to become a professional skater. She was a skilled, competitive roller-skater and involved in the Roller Skate Association for many years earning her many achievements and awards. Lynda was an outdoor enthusiast, whether it be gardening, skiing, hiking or travelling internationally, she enjoyed living life on the go. She sailed and lived across the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. She lived a very active life, fitness and athletics being a large part of it – her competitive streak was very strong. Cooking for her family and baking, especially cakes, were her other favorite pastimes. Lynda was a big kid at heart, full of life, and had so much left to live for with plans to travel this year. She loved and gave so much to her 3-generational family. She brought so much joy to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - best known as "Nana." She was creative in many ways. Lynda had a caring, loving, and giving sense of humor that reflected her unique sense of style. She fought a very courageous, short battle with a very aggressive and rare cancer, and unfortunately did not survive to celebrate her 81st birthday this month. She was a grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 5. If there is anything that should be highlighted about Lynda Moran, it is the love, devotion, and work for children. She was truly gifted by God.
She is survived by daughters Tammy Cathey and Lyndsay Moran, sons Bob O’Connell Jr. and Joshua Moran, 11 grandchildren Kyle Cathey, Tyson Bourgeois, Tina O’Connell, Chloe Young, Kelon Larks, Lyndon Larks, Madelyne Moran, Masion Moran, Jaylin Moran, Amryn Moran, and Leilani Potter, 5 great-grandchildren Claire Cathey, Colin Cathey, Mateo Bourgeois, Kane Thibodaux, and Maddox Thibodaux, twin sister Louise Pavicic, brother Rick McKenzie, numerous nieces and nephews, and life-long friends Janice Lanclos (preceded in passing by Steve) and family, Beth and Randy Heart and family, and Brenda and Bruce Brown.
She is preceded in death by mother Julia May Kinworthy, father Arthor Edward McKenzie, brothers Edward McKenzie and Kenneth McKenzie, and sister Elise Jean Forbes.
