Listen to Obituary

Margaret Estelle Cline, lovingly known to everyone as “Stellie” and, to those who were lucky enough to call her theirs, “Mawmaw Stellie,” passed away September 20, 2026 surrounded by love and her family that she spent her life building, loving, and holding together.

Stellie was the rock of her family and the most unselfish woman in every single way. She and our father, Kenny Cline, spent more than 40 years serving their family and the entire community of Walker at Clines Grocery and Kenny C’s. That store was not just a business; It was a place where the entire community came for conversation, laughs, and friendship. Our parents offered these things for everyone who came through those doors, and every customer gave it right back to them. Our mother never cared about physical things; she cared about people. Her only wish was for her family to remain close throughout their lifetime. Her life was a testament to her unwavering loyalty, commitment, dedication and true compassion for her family - natural and chosen. She was a seemingly impenetrable force who stood beside the people she loved through every high, every low, and every hard day. No matter what life placed in front of her, she weathered it alongside her family without complaint. She was the person you could always count on, the one who made you feel safe simply because she was there.

Her greatest legacy is the love she leaves behind.

Stellie’s family learned what it meant to be loved from her, and because of her example, they love hard. Her love was fierce, unconditional, and abundant. She never forgot the ones she loved. In 1987 she lost her son, Kenny Wayne Cline, Jr. to an automobile accident. 39 years later, though none of her grandchildren or great grandchildren ever met him, they all know everything about him because she never let his spirit or his memory die. She saw him in every grandchild and great-grandchild. Our mother’s love wasn’t reserved only for her own family. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed, cared for, and loved - extending that enormous heart far beyond the walls of her own home. We are who we are today because of our parents and their example of serving others above all else.

Stellie raised the strongest family of women, and her strength lives on in them. It can be seen in her daughters, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and in every generation that will come after them. She taught them by example how to endure difficult days, how to take care of one another, how to keep going, and above all, how to love.

She was so much more than a grandmother. To her grandchildren she was completely unselfish with her time. She was their confidante, a safe place, a rock, and a best friend. The relationship she shared with them cannot be measured simply in years or memories. Her presence became part of who they are. Our children are lucky enough to have full access to their grandmother and their great-grandmother every day of their life because she made certain she was always available. She never said no, if they needed her for a conversation to unload, to study for a high school or college test, to run away because they were mad at their parents, or just because it was Friday and time to pack a bag and go to Maw Maw’s for the weekend.

Stellie Cline had a strong faith in our Lord and she was welcomed home with open arms. She will rest in peace and be a guardian angel for all of her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Kenneth Wayne Cline Sr., son Kenny Wayne Cline Jr., granddaughter Jennifer Paige Harelson, son-in-law Buryl Kuhl, parents Elmer and Muryl Lee Buhler, and two brothers Elmer Allen Buhler and Calvin Lee Buhler.

She is survived by two daughters Debbie Cline Kuhl and Kelly Cline Falgout (Ronnie), grandchildren Randee Rousseau (Jacob), Jamie Farris (Dyllan), Dwayne Farris (Katlie), Christine Pizzolato (Tad), Sydney Harelson (Will), Jennifer Harelson, Katelynn Thompson, Chanler Thompson (Lindsey), Ashley Jelich (Dixon), Allison Lay (Robert), and Camille Falgout (Thomas), great-grandchildren Landon, Cade, Brantley, Jessi, Connor, Nolan, Lively, Sutton, Sophia, Renleigh, Greyson, Josiah, Olivia, Anders, Jones, Mary Austin, Lucy, Kalianna, Aubrianna, and Arayah, brother Richard (Joann) Buhler, sisters Loraine (Roger) Hurst and Barbara (Mike) Wall, and numerous nieces and nephews.
