Marjorie Emma Delois Howell Rutledge

Marjorie Emma Delois Howell Rutledge, 86, a native of Nacogdoches, Texas and resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Marjorie loved traveling, cooking, singing, shopping, and doing all these with her family and friends.

Majorie is survived by her husband of 67 years, David Edward Rutledge; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Lois Rutledge Young; daughter-in-law, Kaye Rutledge; grandchildren, Rebecca Michelle Young, Rachel Marjorie Fassbinder (Marty), Datha Ortist (Timothy), Virginia Hunt (Jerame); great-grandchildren, Rylee, Chyane, Brees, Chole, Kylee, Lance, and Brady; sisters, Geneva Howell Shelton and Brenda Howell Berry Holland; brother, Joe Howell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Michael Rutledge; grandson, David Kaymon Rutledge; parents, Ovid Debbs and Olla Mae Howell; siblings, Richard Howell, James Howell, Dixie Abernathy, and Sue McGee.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Thursday, October 16, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at False River Memorial Park, New Roads. Pallbearers will be Ashley, Brees, Shawn, Jamie, Jerame, and Tim. Honorary pallbearers are Joe and Michah.
