Mark Allen Marbry

Mark Allen Marbry went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday evening, January 9, 2026.

He was born on June 9, 1953, in Escondido, California. Mark faithfully served his Lord and the church wherever he lived, most recently as an elder at NOLA Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Mark was a 1971 graduate of Treadwell High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He continued his education at Mid-South Bible College in Memphis from 1972 to 1974. Mark began his career as a chemical process operator with ExxonMobil in 1978, where he worked until 2008. Following his retirement, he continued to serve as a consultant for ExxonMobil from 2008 to 2016.

In his free time, Mark loved sports, especially baseball. In later years, he enjoyed playing golf with his sons, sons-in-law, and grandsons. He deeply adored his twelve grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.

Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Janice Howell Marbry; his daughters, Jana Marbry Hirst (Edwin) and Laura Marbry Cook (Aaron); his sons, Clayton Mark Marbry (Kelly) and Joseph Allen Marbry (Erika); his grandchildren, Kaylen and Cooper Marbry; Noah, Camille, Micah, and Elijah Hirst; Nolan, Carter, Norah, and Callum Cook; and Luka and Toni Marbry; and his brother, James Gregory Marbry (Marty).

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Perry Marbry and Betty Jean Henry Marbry.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clayton Marbry, Joseph Marbry, Edwin Hirst, Aaron Cook, Noah Hirst, and Cooper Marbry. James Gregory Marbry will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Grace Covenant Baptist Church, 215 Florida Boulevard, Denham Springs, Louisiana, on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
