Marlin “Bud” Alva Hoon Jr., devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed away on August 5, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born in Tallulah, Louisiana on October 18, 1942 to Marlin Alva Hoon Sr. and Genevieve Gaultney Hoon.

Bud graduated from Live Oak High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force. Later he worked for Allied Chemical then transitioned to Paxxon Chemical.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and camping, but most of all he loved his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Anita Muse Hoon; daughters, Donna Lenard (Michael) and Dena Hoon (Pamela Vicknair); grandchildren, Hunter and Starlah Lenard; brother, Travis Hoon; and a special nephew, Danny Muse.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Marlin Sr. and Genevieve Hoon; brother, Fred Hoon; and sister, Sandra Graves.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Hunter Lenard, Michael Lenard, Danny muse, and Gene Kinchen.

Honorary pallbearers are Shane Collins and Ray Arnold.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pinnacle Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care during this time.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., on Thursday, August 7, 2025, with a visitation starting at 1:30 PM until the funeral service at 3:00 PM. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow at Denham Springs Memorial.
