On June 16, 2026, at the age of 90, our beloved mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and friend left this world with the same grace and peace that defined her life. She was the heart of our family—steady, kind, and endlessly giving.
She built a beautiful life with her husband, creating a home filled with warmth, humor, and the smell of something delicious simmering on the stove. Her cooking wasn’t just good—it was legendary. Every holiday, every birthday, every ordinary Sunday became a celebration because she poured love into every dish she made.
But more than anything she did, it was who she was that made her extraordinary. She listened without judgment, loved without conditions, and gave without expecting anything in return. Her kindness was quiet but powerful, and it shaped generations.
We will miss her deeply, but we are grateful for the years we had and the love she gave so freely.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Carlene Taylor (Dave), Charlene Roy (Bruce), Madeline Soileau (Timothy), and Tiffany Barrere (Todd); her treasured grandchildren, Karen Venable (Chris), Lyndsay Johnson (Nate), Jarrod Roy (Gretchen), Ali LaPoint (Drew), Scott Soileau (Katie), Luke Barrere, JonRoss Barrere, and Lauren Lamartiniere (Lane); 18 adored great-grandchildren; and 2 precious great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rodney Cormier; her son-in-law, Timmy Soileau; her great-grandchildren, Robby Taylor and Jonnilyn Barrere; and her brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
