McKinnin Kemp LaCombe, 24, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away on November 3, 2026.
McKinnin was born in Baton Rouge and raised in Denham Springs, Louisiana, where he spent his life making memories with friends and family. He was a beloved son, family member, mentor, and a loyal friend. He held the passion and the ability to inspire those who knew and loved him.
Those who knew McKinnin will remember the joy he brought to everyone around him and the compassion he showed in helping others. He had a natural ability to learn just about anything he set his mind to and was talented in many ways. He put those talents to work in the fields of welding, electrical and counseling. McKinnin gave 100 percent of himself to anything that intrigued him. He cared deeply about others, especially those who were struggling as well as those in need. He shared his testimony often to make a difference in their lives.
McKinnin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He devoted years to baseball, blocking balls and protecting home plate. He treasured his collection of many types of motorcycles. He recently discovered a love for drag racing his zx14, known as “Black Magic.” He held an artistic ability as well and used this skill to create beautiful work as a tattoo artist. He embraced life wholeheartedly, finding peace in what he loved and found his extended family in both the drag racing and recovery communities. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
McKinnin is survived by his loving parents, Chris LaCombe and Heather LaCombe; his grandparents, B.C. and Dianne Barnette, Jerry and Phyllis LaCombe, and Nora Taylor; his uncles, Travis (Sheri) Barnette and Steven (Dana) LaCombe; along with numerous cousins, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, J. Webb Taylor.
Though his time here was far too short, McKinnin made a lasting impact on the lives of those who knew and loved him. His kindness, his passion for life, and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
With special thanks to all those who gave our son the strength to fight, which allowed us additional cherished time with him. In lieu of flowers any donations can be made to Home of Grace, The Hope Center, The Grove or to any recovery center of choice.
