Melba Shaffett Coor

Melba Shaffett Coor, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on March 7, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1945, in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

She was the manager of Circle K where she worked for 20 years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting, and doing her own unique D.I.Y’s. She also loved to fish, dance, cook, and spend her time making special memories with her grandchildren and her family.

Melba was survived by her daughter, Donna Coor-Tynes; her grandchildren, Kaitlin Tynes-Steele (Chase) and Kelsie Tynes; her great grandchildren, Kinsley Rape, Milly-Rose Steele, Kamden Rape, and Madden Steele; her brothers, J.W. Shaffett (Bonnie) and Jessie Shaffett; her ex-husband and forever friend, Val Coor; her son-in-law, Donnie Tynes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Leroy Shaffett, her mother, Bessie Shaffett; her brother, Alven Shaffett; and her sister, Bessie S. Carpenter.
