Melton Morris Kinchen

Melton Kinchen, Sr., 87, of Albany, Louisiana, passed away on August 6, 2026.

Melton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Lee Kinchen, his parents Melvin and Maggie Kinchen, his brother Calvin and wife Jane Severio, and his sister Lucille and husband Glen Galloway. He is survived by his daughter Lynn and husband Randy McCullen and son Melton Kinchen, Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kyle and wife Taylor Canida, and his great-grandchildren, Ramsay Canida and Landry Canida. 

Melton was a skilled carpenter and auto mechanic, known for his ability to work with his hands and fix just about anything. His hard work, dedication, and willingness to lend a helping hand were a meaningful part of who he was. 

Above all, Melton cherished his family. The memories he created with those he loved will remain in their hearts forever. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest peacefully, Daddy. You will forever be loved and remembered.
