Mervin Lee Vicknair

Mervin Lee Vicknair, resident of Denham Springs, passed at the age of 82 on November 29, 2025. He was born in Maurepas, Louisiana to his parents Edmond and Lelia Vicknair on July 24, 1943. Mervin loved to play the guitar and dance. He was happiest when he was camping out and spending an evening around a campfire with his family and friends. Mervin will be dearly missed by those that had the privilege to know and love him.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Gail Vicknair Sanders, sisters Shirley Vicknair and Myrtle Jennings, grandchildren Travis Hammons, Jessica Hammons, and Amanda Hammons, great-grandchildren Gage, Gavin, Mia, Victoria, and Lillian, great-great-grandchild Berkley, and various nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edmond Noel Vicknair and Lelia Rousseau Vicknair, brothers Alvin Vicknair, Edmond Joseph “EJ” Vicknair, Alton James “Boogie” Vicknair Sr., and Charles Jacob Vicknair Sr.
