Michael Joseph Ringe

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16

Michael Joseph Ringe, age 69, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories. Born on August 21, 1956, Mike was a proud native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of Istrouma High School. He worked in operations in the chemical industry for over 30 years.

Mike’s greatest joys were found in the company of his family and friends. He was an avid fan of LSU Football and the New Orleans Saints, through good times and bad. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren! Among their favorite traditions was making horse racing bets together—Mike delighted in losing all of these friendly wagers. His fascination with extreme weather was well known among those close to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Oma Day Ringe; daughters Karla Arceneaux (Jason Arceneaux), Tara McCrory (Dustin McCrory), and Misty Martin (Kevin Martin); son Brandon Ringe; and grandchildren Sean Arceneaux, Liam McCrory, Parker McCrory, Ethan McCrory, Abby Arceneaux, Waylon Martin, and Imogene Martin. Mike is also survived by his sisters Melanie Day, Tina Mathews, and Jennifer “GiGi” Gillette; brothers David Ringe, Patrick Ringe, and Jeffrey Ringe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Altazin Ringe and John Christian Ringe, Sr., and his brothers John “Dugga” Ringe, Jr. and Charles “Chuck” Ringe.

Details for a celebration of Mike’s life are pending.
