Celebrating the Life of Milton Kerry Turner, Sr.
Milton Kerry Turner, Sr. was one of those people who didn’t need recognition or praise to make a difference. He simply believed in helping people, and if someone needed a hand, Kerry was the kind of man who would be there. He certainly wouldn’t want a lot of sadness surrounding his goodbye. He would much rather be remembered for the lives he touched, the people he helped, the kindness he showed, and the countless times he stepped up when someone needed him. This is what is going to live on in the people who knew him and in the kindness they pass along because of him.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Stephanie, who shared a lifetime of memories, friendly banter, love, and adventures with him.
He is also survived by his son, Kerry Turner Jr. (wife LeAnn); his daughter, Kaitlyn Turner Harrell (husband Bradley); his birthday twin/chosen brother Vincent LeJeune; nephew Chris Turner Sr.; niece Becky Turner; niece Carrie Turner, nephew Arthur “Rocky” Slaven; and his five beloved grandchildren, Jack Turner, Myles Turner, Nolan Turner, Oliver Harrell, and Evelyn Harrell, who will carry a piece of him with them always. Preceded by his father Forrest Leonard Turner, mother Eunice Lambert Turner, sister Bonnie Turner, sister Kathy Turner, brother Lennie Turner, and nephew Edward “Rambo” Slaven.
Kerry’s life wasn’t about how much he had, what he owned, or what titles he held. It was about what he gave to others. And by that measure, he lived a pretty remarkable life. So rather than remember him only with tears, remember him with a smile. Remember the times he showed up, the times he helped, the stories that make you laugh, and the moments that remind you just how lucky you were to know him.
If Kerry could leave us with one final reminder, it might simply be this: If you see someone who needs a hand and you are able to help them, give them one. That’s what life is all about, help if you can.
He will be missed, he was loved, and he will never be forgotten.
