Molly Marie Henderson Smiley

It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Molly Marie Henderson Smiley, on the morning of Saturday, September 14, 2024. Molly was a retired office manager for the Office of Risk Management of Baton Rouge.

Molly is survived by her loving husband, Edward Patterson (Pat) Smiley IV, her mother, Gail Hargrove, stepdad Jim Loggins, her sister, Monica Henderson Canova, her brother, Stan Henderson, nieces, Isabella (Bella) Canova and Alexandra (Allie) Canova, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph G. Henderson.

Molly was a loving, thoughtful, funny, kind-hearted and helpful person. She had a beautiful smile that captured everyone’s heart. She dearly loved Pat, the love of her life, and the life they shared together including vacations, concerts, and the many cookouts. She loved her precious rescue dog, L’il Bit.’ She had many friends as far back as elementary school. She loved cooking, reading, playing games, social media, and watching her shows. She especially enjoyed watching the LSU and Saints football games. She was a wonderful cook, always sharing her recipes with others.

Her passing leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in the many memories and all the love we shared. The outpouring of love and special comments shared by family and friends about Molly gives us strength to endure this moment in time.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Saturday, October 5, from 12 p.m. until the Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Please share your condolences below.
