Nell J. Boyett Alexander

With heavy hearts, the family of Nell J. Boyett Alexander announces her passing into eternal rest on Friday, August 29th, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on August 1st, 1933, Nell’s life was a radiant gift of love, kindness, and grace.

Nell was first married to Earl Ray Boyett, with whom she began her journey of family and motherhood. She was later blessed with her husband, William Lamar Alexander, who, along with her daughter, Deborah Gray, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Smith (Spencer), Linda Patterson (Douglas), and Charles Boyett (Jennifer Armand); her brother, Marvin James; her sister, Carolyn J. Hayes; five grandchildren—Johnathan, Kristy, Matthew, Lauren, and Rheanna; and eight great-grandchildren—Saigen, Aubry, Parker, Avery, Easton, Elliott, Oliver, and Hayden.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Baton Rouge Hospice Foundation for the care they provided during Nell’s final days. They also wish to express their deepest thanks for your love, support, and prayers. Memorial donations may be made to the Baton Rouge Hospice Foundation in her honor.

Though her chair now sits empty and her voice is silent, Nell’s love will forever echo in the hearts of her family. Her life was a song of love, and her melody will never fade.
