Ms. Nita Carol Ware (Myers), age 84, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Born on June 14, 1941, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Nita lived a vibrant and full life marked by her deep love for family, her joyful spirit, and her unwavering generosity.
A proud graduate of Byrd High School, Nita went on to build a meaningful career working in group benefits at the Louisiana State Police Headquarters. Her dedication and reliability made her a valued colleague throughout her professional life.
Nita’s heart was always with her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Barbara Hebert and her spouse Jimmy Duplessis, Tammy Perez, and Juanita Howell. She also leaves behind her brothers Eddie Myers and his wife Gaye, Ronald Benjamin “Bing” Myers and his wife Charlotte; her sister Diana Konczol and husband James; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents James Myers and Grace Robinson Beech; her brothers Elton Myers and Roger Clyde Myers; her son James Albert Patterson Jr. (“Pat”); and grandson Joseph Patterson.
If you knew Nita, you knew that she LOVED fishing. Whether she was reeling them in or simply enjoying the stillness of the water when they weren’t biting, she found peace outdoors. Her passion for nature was matched only by her love of people—she was a true social butterfly who thrived on connection. Always the life of the party, Nita brought joy wherever she went with music in her ears and dancing in her soul.
Her hands were rarely idle—when not holding a fishing rod or dancing partner, they were busy crocheting blankets for every new baby in the family. These handmade gifts became treasured keepsakes that carried a piece of Nita’s heart with them. An avid reader as well, she never went anywhere without a book tucked under her arm—ready to dive into another story whenever time allowed.
Fun-loving, caring, dependable—these are just a few words that begin to describe the woman whose presence lit up every room she entered. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family who carry forward the laughter she shared so freely and the love she gave so generously.
May Ms. Nita Carol Ware’s joyful spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey. Friends and family will gather to honor a remarkable woman whose memory will forever bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on October 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 3:00 PM at Seale Funeral Home 1720 S Range Ave, Denham Springs, La 70726.
