Paula Jones Tennison

Paula Sue Jones Tennison, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, on March 7, 2026.

Paula was born on June 4, 1953, in DuQuoin, Illinois. She was a longtime and faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs, where her faith and love for others were evident to everyone who knew her.

Paula found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments. She loved cooking for those she cared about, shopping, and taking photographs—always making sure to print them so the memories could be held onto and shared with family. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with the people she loved most, especially in her role as a devoted mother and proud grandmother.

She loved cheering on LSU Tigers football and always made it known that she was not a fan of Bama (Sorry Kevin).

Paula will be remembered for her love of family, her warm spirit, and the countless memories she created and preserved for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.

Paula is survived by her loving husband of 56 years and 10 months, Larry Dale Tennison; daughters, Becky Tennison and Kristy Tennison Friend (Charlie); sons, Ricky Tennison and Danny Tennison; grandchildren, Kristen and Austin Tennison, Houston, Hayden, Hunter, and Hudson Merritt, and Charlie, Madison, and Caleb Friend; great grandchild, Sky Volger; and brother, Kevin Jones.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, Darlene and Gene Jones; and sister, Darla Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs on Thursday, March 12, 2025 for a visitation starting at 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM conducted by Reverend Billy Johnson. A graveside service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park
