Peggy Jane Mitchell Cook

Peggy Jane Cook, 94, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026 at Harvest Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Born on March, 10, 1932 in Camden Tennessee, she was a long time resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana. She was a homemaker that enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a devout christian attending church at Abundant Life Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years James Thomas Cook, Sr., son James Thomas Cook, Jr., grandson Jonathan Matthew Cook, parents Charlie and Jewel Mitchell, sisters Patricia Scroggins Gardner and Lucinda Williams, brothers Harold Mitchell and Mark and Freddy Byrd.

She is survived by her son William Cook of Gonzales, Louisiana, Anthony Cook of Denham Springs, Louisiana and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to Life Source Hospice and the staff at Harvest Manor Nursing Home for taking care of her for 9 years.

Interment will be at GreenOaks cemetery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at 3pm on Thursday, April 30th.
