Percy M Bankston

Percy M Bankston, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away August 2, 2026 at the age of 91.

Percy was born in New Orleans to Milton and Lasca Bankston. After graduating high school, he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. After completing his time in the army, he worked as a successful barber for 16 years. Later in life, he became a Carpenter at LSU where he remained for 27 years. Percy was a faithful member of Amite Baptist Church and Watson Baptist Church in Denham Springs, where he delighted in worshipping the Lord and sharing in the fellowship with those around him. In his free time, he enjoyed going camping, listening to bluegrass music and playing guitar surrounded by friends. His kind and gentle spirit will be missed dearly by all those who had the privilege to know and love him.

He is survived by children, Ray Bankston (Rebecca) and Randy Bankston (Kim); grandchildren, Lasca (Tim Rodrigue) and Lara Bankston, Shane, Maxim (Erin) and Denver Bankston (Torri); great-grandchildren, Nash and Penn Bankston, TJ and Tony Rodrigue, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Bankston; parents, Milton and Lasca Bankston, and all of his siblings.

The family would like to thank Amite Baptist Church and Watson Baptist Church for their love and kindness.

Services will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, August 7, 2026 with visitation from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM and service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow in Amite Baptist Church Cemetery.
