Perry Ray Wilson, 67, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026. He was born on October 1, 1958, in Baton Rouge to the late Shirley and Carroll Wilson.

Perry graduated from Tara High School in 1976 and attended LSU in Baton Rouge. A true Southern outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the trails. He also had a passion for motorcycles, which brought him some of the happiest moments of his life.

An accomplished rider, Perry placed second in the Louisiana State Dirt Track Championship in his youth. He was a motorcycle racer in the early 1970s and a very competitive one at that. He rode a Honda Elsinore #12 and raced at the Norwood and Grangeville tracks. You could always find Perry and his Dad—his chief mechanic—working together on the bike. Those racing years brought so many wonderful people into Perry's life more like a family than friends.

Perry dedicated most of his career to the energy industry, beginning with Texas Eastern and later retiring as an operator with Duke Energy. Known as an exceptional mechanic, he was respected by coworkers for his reliability, strong work ethic, and extensive knowledge.

More important than any achievement was Perry's devotion to his family. He was known for his kind and gentle nature, steady presence, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Perry is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Lisa Wilson; son Chris Landry (Jessica) and grandchildren Hoyt, Hollis, and Hunt; stepchildren Rachel Campbell (Nathan), Sarah Hecker (Rick), and Paul Vicknair (Tracy), in addition to grandchildren Cheramie, Michael, John, Walter, Henry, and Stuart, and one great-grandson, Gabriel. He is also survived by his brother, David (Mike) Wilson (Beverly), and nephews Michael Gerace (Ramona) and Gerald (Jerry) Pourciau.

We would like to thank his compassionate caregivers Mary Beth, Betty, Dior, Jamari, Sha, Sherryl, and Stephanie, who helped throughout the duration of his illness, as well as the caring staff at Clarity Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs.
