Philip “Phil” Lockett, a native of Zachary, Louisiana and graduate of Baker High School, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. Phil was a quiet, gentle soul known for his humility, kindness, and deep devotion to his family and to his faith.
Phil loved the Lord and lived his life with a servant’s spirit. In his final days, he faced his journey home with peace and confidence, knowing that he was going to be with Jesus.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Lockett; his daughter, Angela Lockett; and his stepchildren, Paul McKee, Misty Thomas (Chris), and Ben McKee. He also leaves behind his nephews Paul Raiford (Melonie) and Scott Raiford (Lisa); his niece Tiffany Tucker Treloar (Steven); as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Sr. and Bertha Lockett; his brother, John Lockett; and his sister, Elaine Raiford.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, playful sense of humor, and unwavering faith. Phil’s legacy of love, kindness, and faithfulness will continue in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Phil’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA, with visitation beginning at 1:30 PM and the service to follow at 3:30 PM.
