Rebecca Lou Overlease

Rebecca “Becky Lou” Jones Overlease passed at the age of 65 on November 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 14, 1965 to her parents Robert and Hattie Jones in Cleveland, Mississippi. After graduating high school, she worked as an office manager at Quality Transport for many years until retiring. Becky loved to spend her time completing puzzles, RV camping, and playing with her granddaughters. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son Matthew Overlease (Julia), daughter/niece Jennifer Prewitt, grandchildren Makenna Overlease and Josephine Overlease, brothers Robert Lewis Jones Jr. (Laura) and Oliver “Coot” Felix Weatherly Jones, grand-nieces Riley Prewitt and Sylvia Smith, nephews Jim Montgomery (Sam), Robert Prewitt, and Robert Lewis “Les” Jones III, and grand-nephew Dakota Prewitt.

She is preceded in death by her husband Steve Overlease who she joined shortly after, parents Hattie Mae and Robert Lewis Jones, and big sister Elizabeth “Libby” Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be Jim Montgomery, Michael Busham, Mike Briley for Greta Briley, Rhett LeBlanc for Sue LeBlanc, Robert Lewis “Les” Jones III, and Robert Prewitt.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to OLOL Oncology Group (Dr. Ozair), Amedisys Home Health (Devin and Megan), Amedisys Hospice (Kevin and Angela), Dr. Chadwick Soileau, and all the people that helped them with their peace.

A visitation for both Steve and Becky Overlease will be held at Seale Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29th from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a funeral service starting at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
