Renita Sullivan Lucas

She was born on June 25, 1960 and passed away on October 14, 2025 with her husband and best friend, Tara, by her side after a short battle with Cancer.

Renita had a joy & zest for life, living it with all the vim & vigor she could muster, loving every minute of it.

She owned Devinet's Wine and Prepared Food with her late partner, Bill Guess, in Baton Rouge. After moving back to Denham Springs, she opened Carrington's, preparing French cuisine for her customers to bring home and cook.

She enjoyed traveling and cooking, hosting some amazing dinner parties.

She's preceded in death by her grandparents and mother, a stepson, James R. Lucas, whom she loved as her own. Survived by her husband, James Lucas, a cousin, Wanda Shepherd and her husband Gordon, and best friends, Loretta Chandler and Tara L. Jones, who was her caregiver. Memorial donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Iris, the battered women's shelter.
