Reuben Hardy

Reuben Hardy, a resident of Livingston, passed away October 1, 2026 at the age of 86.

Reuben was born in Bayou Barbary, Louisiana to Henry and Arelee Hardy. After graduating, he made a career as a successful engineer and worked at Borden Milk for over 45 years. Reuben was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he enjoyed hearing the word of God and sharing in the fellowship with those around him. In his free time, he loved riding his tractor and cutting grass. Most of all, he was a family man, and loved spending every minute he could with his kids and grandkids. His kind and gentle spirit will be missed dearly by his beloved family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Carla Hardy and Kenny Hardy(Stephanie); grandchildren, Chelsea Hardy, Blaisha McKenzie(Michael), Holly Jumonville(Dustin), and Raven Watts(Jamie); great-grandchildren, Abby, Dyson, Whitley, Tucker, Reuben and Cooper; siblings, Mary Nell Bennett(Polly), Delmas Hardy(Kerri), Harold Hardy (Brenda), and Darold Hardy(Lawanna).

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Balfantz Hardy, and his parents, Henry and Arelee Hardy.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Monday October 5, 2026 at Pine Grove Baptist Church for a visitation at 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Houston McKenzie, Marvin Wise, Walter Wise, Dustin Jumonville, Jamie Watts, Dyson Ivy and Michael McKinney. Honorary pallbearers will be Abby Matherne, Whitley Watts, Tucker Jumonville, Reuben Watts, Cooper Jumonville.
